Chris Floyd

Founder & Recruiter Chris Floyd is a former professional chef who founded CRR in 2004. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Floyd settled in San Francisco where he commenced his culinary career. He worked his way up in the fine dining scene, learning from some of the best, including Michael Mina at Aqua and Alain Rondelli. Both restaurants received four stars from the SF Chronicle. Floyd later became the chef at Silks in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. During his tenure there, he had the good fortune to train and travel in Asia. He later ran the busy French Brasserie, Left Bank, founded by Roland Passot. After a decade in San Francisco, Floyd returned to his hometown of Washington, DC with his family in tow. His convivial nature and passion for food inspired Floyd to open CRR. He leads the CRR team, recruiting all levels of restaurant hospitality management, from pastry chefs to F&B directors and everything in between. Floyd believes in a hands-on approach to recruiting. He enjoys getting to know both clients and candidates and understanding where they are in their careers and in their lives. A successful placement for him is one that results in a perfect fit—where both the client and the candidate can find success together. Floyd takes pride in the successes of CRR and the team in being the “go to” recruiting firm in the DC region. He is proud of the accomplishments of the many hospitality chefs and managers that CRR has placed in DC and around the country.

She has held positions as a server, bartender, and manager with some of DC's most iconic restaurant groups, including Clyde's, Capital Restaurant Concepts, and Austin Grill. After bearing witness to the evolution of the DC dining scene, Sharyn joined CRR in 2007. She uses her understanding of the industry to help guide the next generation of front-of-the-house managers find their perfect fit, which is why she is informally known as CRR's Fairy Job Mother. Shana Mckillop-Kady

These days, Shana plays a central role in all things recruiting - whether you're a FOH professional, a BOH professional, or a client, she will be happy to chat and figure out just how we can help! Shana's enthusiasm for hospitality is palpable and she can easily detect that same passion in others when interviewing candidates. Connecting qualified, ambitious professionals with our clients and seeing those relationships grow into successful long-term partnerships is her motivation. When she's not dining out and networking, you will probably find her enjoying some live music, browsing a farmers market, or at home in the kitchen creating something delicious to eat.

James Duke

Recruiter Born and raised in the DMV, James began his restaurant career in his hometown of Old Town Alexandria at the age of 15. Working his way through high school and college studying industrial-organizational Psychology, Duke realized his heart was in hospitality. At 21, Duke switched gears and enrolled in L'academie de Cuisine, Gaithersburg, MD. He instantly fell in love with French cuisine and the culture which surrounds food. After graduating with honors from L'academie, Duke went on to train at some of the area's most successful restaurant groups. To mention a few, Duke held positions in The James Beard award-winning Bistro Bis, Neighborhood Restaurant Group, Clyde’s, and Great American Restaurants. Along with working in these long-standing restaurants, Duke assisted in the opening of 12 D.C. area independent restaurants. Duke comes to CRR from a position as the Director of Culinary at Stellina Pizzeria, which was awarded Bib Gourmand Michelin during his stay. Over time Duke learned that the secret to a successful restaurant was not always beautiful dining rooms and well-crafted food, but the people behind the scenes. Duke now has a passion for helping Chefs find their next exciting role, lending his network and knowledge to staffing the DMV’s finest restaurants. Duke always loves meeting new chefs and helping them find the right fit.

Peer Larson

Recruiter Originally from Washington DC, Peer moved to Los Angeles after college to become the next Leonardo DiCaprio. Finding rent difficult to pay he began serving and bartending to make ends meet. He was given an opportunity in management and something “clicked” as he was quickly promoted to GM within his first few months. Seeing that hospitality was in his blood he switched gears to grow his career. This brought him back to Washington DC to work for world renowned chef Jose Andres. Through this partnership Peer was given the opportunity to relocate to San Diego to manage luxury brand restaurants. He was then given the opportunity to move back to Los Angeles and expand his knowledge within the nightlife sector of hospitality. Eager to start a family he and his wife moved to Austin, Texas where he was exposed to the world of hotels and multi-unit management. After the birth of his daughter he realized that family support is paramount and moved yet again to Asheville, North Carolina to be closer to family, where he settled into a little house in the mountains. Since becoming a father Peer has embraced all things “dad” including sweaters and terrible jokes. Peer is obsessed with BBQ and can be found spending nearly all of his spare time feeding his neighbors smoked meats.
